Hawaii- Part One

I'm going to have to do this post in phases, there are THAT many pictures :)

We had an amazing time (back in May)! It is crazy how long it takes me these days to get on here.

Anyhow...Hawaii...

We slept every night with the doors open, just listening to the waves lap up on the sand. We had cable and wifi which was an added luxury.

Here was our condo. The bed looked out to the balcony which was 10 feet from the ocean. Stunning! It was truly a trip of a lifetime. With a 2 & 4 year old at home we were in need of time to reconnect more than ever before. BIG thank you to the grandparents, tete and the Wilson's for caring for our littles while we were away.

This was the view from our deck

This was the view from the front of the condo

All dressed up for a nice dinner out at Longhi's on the water in lahaina

More to come in post #2!

Movie date with my babes

Took the kiddos to see Rio, one of their favorite movies today. We had a blast. Candy, popcorn and some quality time together. Ben did so great! I wasn't sure what to expect from him, but he really enjoyed his first theater experience.

Morning snuggles

This morning I have been furiously working on paying bills online before we leave town for the weekend.

I had planned to wake up early and get it done before the kids got up (since my eyelids insisted on shutting last night) and my plans were immediately thwarted by both my babies waking up 5 min after the computer opened (I swear they can hear the sound of the keys).

So I have been sitting here taking care of business with the laptop on my lap and two little warm bodies pressed firmly against me.

Ben laid down on Matt's pillow and said "Brooklyn, will you snuggle me?" and she replied "Oh buddy, of course I will. I'm your big sister, I'll always do anything for you. Lay down and I'll do whatever you need. Want me to rub your back?"

I am so thankful I had the computer open so I could write this down and remember it forever.

The reality is they fight WAY more than they love, but when they love, it's intense, loyal and REAL. Feeling very blessed at this moment.

It was free slurpee day yesterday. They like slurpees. No surprise :)

Art projects from preschool: Four year old originals

Still playing catch up on my blog. I finally took pictures of all the pictures that Brooklyn had made at pre school and colored at home. This little girl has such a passion (still) for all things coloring, drawing, sketching and painting. She told me that "if you try really hard mama, you too can be an outstanding artist someday". My favorite has to be the first one, of Benny, Jesus and herself at the park. Melt my heart.

The kids both made finger print flower pots for me for Mother's Day at church. This is Brooklyn's:

Summer is here!

The kids and I met some friends at the park the other morning and they were having so much fun and SO didn't want to leave so I decided to offer a plan b) we decided to blow off naps, our grocery shopping, and all the other boring responsibilities to just have a day filled with play!

So we headed to Burgerville for some lunch, complete with milk shakes for the road. Ben indulged in one of his favorite past times (drinking his ranch) 😝

Then we headed back to the park and played with the ducks down by the water. I said "don't get in the water". See how well they listen. Ha.

They both completely submerged themselves and Ben was a total duck chaser.
It was a great day filled with hilarious things these little people say. Brooklyn asked me how she can become a dog while digging in the sand. Every time Ben lost sight of Brooklyn he would say "where my Brooklyn go?" I love that he calls her "my Brooklyn".

There was a 6 month old puppy that was playing in the river, before I even had a chance to do anything Ben walked over, scooped up a chunk of suck poop and fed it to the puppy. Blech!

I think my favorite story from today however, was up at the play structure. Brooklyn befriended a little girl named Ella. They were watching a squirrel run up and down a giant tree. Brooklyn named the squirrel "Lilly". She looked over at me and said as loud as she could "mom! I think Lilly is twitter-pated". As in "in love" from the movie Bambie.

Welcome summer! We've been excited for your arrival!
